A homicide convict serving a day to day existence term which got away from guardianship 11-days prior in the wake of testing positive for Covid-19 was captured from a thick woods in Bengal’s Darjeeling area on Thursday after a massive search, police said.

Bhim Rai (53) was condemned to life detainment for killing his better half in 2011. He was delivered on parole from Jalpaiguri focal prison on July 24. Abhi Tamang, a nearby occupant who was among the three adolescents who previously came to approach Rai, said “He was running quicker than us and was pelting stones. He advised us to return home.”

A few authorities said a lack of PPEs postponed the activity. Just a bunch of individuals were wearing PPEs.

Rai was sent to Darjeeling locale medical clinic for an exam. The individuals who seized him would be tried as well.
