Alluding to his “work vehicle rallies” against the laws during his ongoing visit to Punjab and Haryana, Gandhi stated, “I came to Punjab and Haryana a couple of days back and each farmer and worker realize that these three laws are an assault on them.”
He said he was glad that the Punjab government has chosen to meet an extraordinary meeting of the Assembly on specific laws toward October 19 where MLAs will “choose about these farm laws”.
Gandhi was conveying a virtual location at the dispatch of the second period of ‘Savvy Village Campaign’ in Punjab.
Rs 2,663 crore has been distributed to execute roughly 50,000 remarkable improvement works under the mission.

The three farm bills – the Farmer’s Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020 – were passed by Parliament as of late. In this way, President Ram Nath Kovind gave his consent to the bills.
The Congress, numerous other resistance groups and a few farmers associations have been challenging these enactments, asserting that these will hurt the interests of farmers and advantage corporates, a case denied by the administration.
The Center has stated that these new laws will be advantageous for farmers and will expand their pay.
