There was no easing up in north India’s chilly climate conditions on Saturday with new snowfall in pieces of Kashmir influencing flight activities. A thick layer of mist wrapped parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Substantial precipitation was seen at disconnected spots in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Kashmir. In Delhi, the base temperature was recorded at 10.8 degrees Celsius, four scores better than average. 

The city’s base temperature has stayed better than average since January 3 because of overcast cover affected by progressive western aggravations. The Safdarjung Observatory, which gives delegate information to the city, had recorded a base temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius on Friday and 14.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday, the most elevated in January in four years, the IMD said. 

The overcast cover over the public capital has forestalled a precarious decrease in the base temperature up until now, an IMD official said.

Chilly climate conditions won in Punjab and Haryana even as the area’s base temperatures drifted better than average levels. 

Necessary capital Chandigarh recorded a low of 10.8 degrees Celsius, five scores better than average. Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala in Punjab recorded their essentials at 9.4 degrees Celsius, 10.7 degrees Celsius and 10.3 degrees Celsius, up to six indents better than average for this piece of the year. 

Pathankot, Adampur, Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur settled at 11.6 degrees Celsius, 8.7 degrees Celsius, 6.3 degrees Celsius, 7.5 degrees Celsius and 8.8 degrees Celsius individually. Rajasthan recorded a base temperature of 5 degrees Celsius. 

Bikaner, Ganganagar and Jaisalmer registered night temperatures of 6.6, 7.2 and 7.3 degrees Celsius. In Uttar Pradesh, light rains alongside thundershowers happened at detached puts over western pieces of the state. At the same time, the climate was dry over eastern parts. 

State capital Lucknow recorded a base temperature of 12.4 degrees Celsius, while Allahabad enlisted a low of 15.4 degrees Celsius. 

Gorakhpur recorded a low 12 degrees Celsius, Jhansi enlisted 13.5 degrees Celsius. The IMD has estimate least temperature liable to fall steadily by 3-5 degrees Celsius during the following 3-4 days, causing cold wave conditions over Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan from January 11 to 13.
