In the wake of being suspended for near two years, 4G internet services will, at last, be reestablished in whole Jammu and Kashmir.

In a tweet, J&K organization head secretary Rohit Kansal reported that 4G mobile internet services are being reestablished in J&K.

The services, as per sources, are probably going to continue from Friday midnight.

Internet services were closed in Jammu and Kashmir before the Center declared Article 370 of the Indian Constitution on August 5, 2019. The repeal of Article 370 stripped J&K of its uncommon status, parting it into two Union Territories – J&K and Ladakh.

The public authority had referred to separatists and Pakistan-based psychological warfare as the motivation to confine fast internet in Jammu and Kashmir.

In August a year ago, Central government had told the Supreme Court that a unique council investigating internet rebuilding in Jammu and Kashmir was thinking about permitting 4G internet access on an initial premise in the Union Territory.

Focus had said that 4G access would be given in one area of Jammu district and one in Kashmir. Following this, 4G internet services were re-established in Ganderbal and Udhampur area from August 16.

In the rest of the J&K regions, internet speed kept on being confined to 2G.
