The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The plot puts the player in the shoes of Geralt of Rivia, a witcher in search of Ciri, a girl whom he considers almost like a daughter and whom he has not seen for a long time. In this long search, Geralt will meet numerous characters, including his lover Yennefer. The latter will lead the witcher to the emperor of Nilfgaard, who will provide him with exciting information about Ciri.
The game was highly appreciated by the community, primarily because of the intriguing story, the excellent possibility of character growth, the massive game world and the enormous amount of content between primary and secondary missions.
Many players have loved the narrative universe of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, so much so that they have created an encyclopedia in Italian where you can find all the relevant information on the title.
The game of the Year version, of which you can find the link below, also contains the two significant expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, as well as 16 DLCs that are divided between costumes, weapons and small side quests.
Cyberpunk 2077
Another CD Project masterpiece and one of the “triple-A” titles that mark the handover between one generation of consoles to another is available for both PS4 and PS5 (as well as Xbox and PC). Cyberpunk 2077 is an action role-playing game with a first-person view in which the player plays the role of V, a mercenary fully customizable in both appearance and background, equipped with cybernetic enhancements and whose goal is to discover the truth behind the mysterious plant. Cybernetician who, after an accident, merged with his brain.
He is a high-level graphics (at least on PC), the immense editor and the great freedom of action given by the open-world setting of Night City (a megalopolis full of side missions, objects to find and vehicles to drive and collect) are the ingredients that make this title a must-have for all fans of the genre but not only.
At launch on older generation consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), the game encountered some issues that forced developers to grant refunds to unsatisfied players. These issues have now been resolved with numerous patches that fix the graphic bugs and those that prevented you from proceeding in the adventure. The development team is continually working to optimize the game on old hardware. It has already announced that all the adventure DLCs can be downloaded for free, and the upgrade for console versions of the game will be free if you purchase one. PS4 or Xbox One version.
Dark Souls III
Launched in 2016, Dark Souls III is seen by gamers as one of the best titles in the series action RPG of FromSoftware. Designed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, according to many, the latter has given birth to a sort of new genre. So much so that the expression “souls-like” is often used to indicate games with characteristics similar to the titles of the Dark Souls series.
The style of Hidetaka Miyazaki, much appreciated by the community, provides for a severe difficulty. Which never becomes too punitive and indeed allows the player to improve from battle to battle. And a high degree of satisfaction once a challenging enemy has been defeated.
The Game areas are often connected and have a structure. That alternates explorable areas with common enemies to others that host the spectacular battles with the bosses.
The plot is to be sought through the lore, the “hidden story” of the game world. And multiplayer provides the ability to summon other players to get help. Or invade the world of other users to “annoy” them during their adventure.
The players liked this level of interaction, and the depth of the “hidden” storyline is also a big plus for the production.
Path of Exile
Published by Grinding Gear games, Path of Exile stands out on this list. For starts, it is a free to play game as compared to others. This title may not be as high profile as the rest of them, but designer Chris Wilson has done an exceptional job on the game.
And it packs a heavy punch for RPG fans out there, especially for Diablo fans from which the game is heavily influenced.
The plot of the games takes you to the continent of Wraeclast. Once a mighty empire is now cursed with darkness. The game offers several play modes (leagues and such). And while the game is multiplayer, it is still heavily instanced to give every player his own experience.
Every player can choose from any of the seven classes. Each with its skills and attributes which complement his playing style. Next, you have a strong item economy in the game. Players can use gems and items to their character’s attributes, which helps in the game’s progression. These gems and items can either be bought from vendors using various poe currency ps4 or acquired through grinding quests and bosses.
