Meat Loaf was so anxious to dodge military service that he put on 68 pounds on purpose to fail his physical.

When he was declared fit to serve in the army, his scheme was defeated.

Meat Loaf received his draft notification two weeks later, despite being colourblind and overweight.

Orvis, a police officer by trade, acted as a vicious criminal, according to Biography. He was a thug who would “slap [Meat Loaf] around or toss him through a screen door” and then vanish for days at a time.

Wilma, Meat Loaf’s mother, was a schoolteacher who also had the unpleasant task of going “from bar to bar” with Meat Loaf in tow in search of Orvis, who had been missing for a long time. In 1966, she succumbed to cancer.

While working on his most famous album, Meat Loaf encountered a ghost. “I noticed a blonde girl in a white dress while we were filming Bat Out Of Hell. “There’s a groupie up on the balcony,” I hurried downstairs and told the guys.

Meat Loaf claims that the ghost had magically vanished by the time the rest of the squad arrived upstairs.

Meat Loaf also told The Mirror about a time when a ghost entered his London hotel room at 6 a.m. by walking through a wall.
