This weekend, the San Francisco 49ers shut out the Los Angeles Chargers in the second half on route to a 22-16 victory.
A few days after the victory, the 49ers opted to part ways with their veteran quarterback. Multiple sources indicate that the team is moving on from Kurt Benkert.
After the season-ending injury suffered by former starting quarterback Trey Lance, he first signed with the 49ers. He has been a member of the practice squad for the last month.
"The #49ers released QB Kurt Benkert from their practice squad," NFL reporter Ari Meirov said.
The former undrafted quarterback has previously played for the Falcons, Packers, and now the 49ers.
We'll have to wait and see where he lands next.
