Consequently, Sean Payton had the opportunity to choose Lamar Jackson while he coached the Saints. He wasted his opportunity, which appears to have doomed New Orleans for the time being.
Payton will almost certainly coach in the NFL again, but it is difficult to picture him pairing up with Jackson.
